Under the Prime Minister and Interior Minister, it oversees logistical support: managing the civil registry, identity cards, security forces, and local administrators (governors, prefects). It prepares election logistics in coordination with CENA.
The DGE (Direction Générale des Élections, created by decree in 2012) within the Interior Ministry assists CENA on the ground.
